The Bakery

Post by Baelfire on Tue Dec 02, 2014 4:08 pm

In the middle of the town rose a small building, which at first glance seemed simple. This was actually the bakery, which belonged to Baelfire and his Grandmother. Outside there were windows in which were exhibited all kinds of goodies. There was a large black board, on which every morning were written the specialties of the day. The red roof of the bakery somehow stood out from the surrounding buildings. Over the bakery there was a small room, which was supposed to be the home of the bakers.

Re: The Bakery

Post by Baelfire on Tue Dec 02, 2014 5:42 pm

It was before early hours that Baelfire, the grandson of the baker, was up getting fresh water from the well just out the back of the bakery outside in his clean navy top around the neck it as a few buttons which was always left open due to him always getting to warm quickly, being near ovens all day and lifting buckets of water and 100 pounds of flour, one does tend to get too warm. charcoal coloured shorts revealing his legs, again why wear trousers if it makes you too warm. Safe to say, Baelfire could tell it was going to be a good day today for the shop. Why? Well he could see run clouds on the horizon, which means people would want warm food and fresh bread quickly today, so normally they would make double the load and end up closing the bakery around early afternoon, not tilt the evening.

Bae easily tied the bucket onto the rope along with hooking it to the hook that helps to lower the bucket too. Lowering it was easy yet weirdly difficult, you had to get the bucket landing on it's side for the water to go into the bucket, from many times loosing buckets as a child, it's safe to say he didn't loose any now. His rough hand grabbed the rope and gave it a tug, yep, the bucket was full. Now to pull the bucket up which the male did with ease, after all he's been doing this since he was a toddler, growing muscle from hard labour never harmed him at all. In fact his grandmother tells him he should be married by now or at least dated half the girls in the village, but he hasn't.

The bucket reached the top easily heaving it out of the well and detaching and hook easily enough. He carried his bucket inside to the bakery walking over to the well light fire which had been created earlier before he left the building to get water. Bae placed the bucket down on the floor next to the fire. Slow foot steps caught his attention, his grandmother was up, seeing her small form, she greets him with a large smile and a playful pat on his arm as she dismissed him to do his other jobs, he chuckles slightly as he walks out the door as he starts to hear bowls clanging around, this grandmother started to make dough.

Bae was now onto his second job The flour bags in the store was getting low, they need to be replaced by the ones in the basement. Walking out of the front of the shop, turning left as he steps out to turn the corner of the street to the basement doors, opening the heavy doors, that gave a a sharp noise as he opened them, He heavily sighs as the lowers the door towards the ground. He always hated that noise.  Stepping into the room, going down the steps in a lazy fashion, there wasn't much sun light to light up the room, yet this is a regulare thing for this human to do, so he knew where everything is so it didn't really matter to him, walking to a massive pile of flour in brown sacks. He crouches down in front of them lifting one of the sacks on to his right shoulder. On a silent counting to three he bounced up straight and starts to walk back to the stairs and slowly up them.

(Anyone want to rp with Bae?)

Re: The Bakery

Post by Aceline on Wed Dec 03, 2014 4:34 pm

The morning sky was dark gray today. There was no sign of the happy yellow sun, which usually lightened the horizon by this time. Today on its place were lying fluffy clouds which appeared to be numerous. The wind was blowing the dark red and orange leaves away from the tree branches.vThe road was rustling with dead leaves, the air was smoky and mellow as if the whole earth was being burnt for its fragrance like a cigar.
In the begining of the road could be seen a figure. It seemed small, fragile and somehow mysterious. Its dark long hair was dancing in a gorgeous move with the cold wind. The edges of its coat moved together with the pces of the unknown creature. With each step it got closer and closer. The echo of its tapping heels grew stronger. Then suddenly it stopped.
Aceline stood quietly infront of the bakery. Her pale skin was in contrast with the dark clothes she wore. Her deep blue eyes ran through the glass where some of the already baked goodies were exhibited. Her pinkish lips opened a little as if she was about to say or whisper something but not even a sigh came out of them. She ran the tip of her finger over her chin before finally taking a step forward.
The old wooden door opened making an unpleasant sound which surtainly irritated the young girl. Ace once again looked at the glass before turning around. She saw nobody in the room, which made her think she came too early. It wasn't the first time she visited this place, but usually she was here an hour later than now. However, she wasn't planning on leaving. She could wait, after all she had almost an eternity. So with a few slow steps Aceline got near the pay desk and carefully placed the basket full of products over the wooden raft. Her eyes slowly moving from one subject to another, while waiting for the old lady to appear.

Of course as Baelfire works, is grandmother, Roselyn. She had been busy with the dough, which she has now left to air for a little in a wooden bowl with a clean cloth laid over the bowel. The old lay clapped her hands getting rid of the flour of her hands, small feet shuffled to the sink, wrinkled hands dip into the warm water, rubbing the excess off her old skin.
Drying her wet hands on a towel by the sink, which was for this very prepose. The layout of the bakery was fit to be easy for the baker to be organised. She placed back down the towel that she used back to where it lives, hanging off the hook by the sink. Her brown eyes look to the oven, ah! Bread was done! Roselyn walks over to the oven opening, the large door, letting the heat of course escape first, still there was times that she has opened it and got blast of heat greeted her face. The old lady with the plaited white hair pull gloves out along with a large set of utensils, flicking the tray out of the hot oven, hitting the stopper at the end of the oven door which opens up towards the body. With her safety gloves on she picked up the stray and carries it into the shop.

"Ah! Your Early my dear!"

The wrinkled old human smiles at the young female who often came to the bakery. Obviously way to early. After Roselyn only made the first two batches so far. Placing the tray down on the wooden table, that was covered in canvas material to not burn the table behind the counter.

"Very Early indeed my girl, Baelfire hasn't even brought the flour extra flour in yet let alone start making todays delicious treats!"

The lady spoke telling that the girl was indeed very early yet she spoke her grandson name with pride. Baelfire was normally hidden away from costumers view when they came to the shop, specially due to the young ladies in town seem to try and get his attention, which he didn't want. Yet as she, Roselyn, says that Bae was entering the shop, one hand on the door handle while the other resting on the sack of flour over his shoulder. He seems to halt in his step in slight surprise yet his balance didn't falter, may times children had run in front in his younger years he almost dropped the heavy sack on one, yet since then Baelfire was determined to not let it happen again, dropping a bag of flour was expensive to the victim it could fall on and the bakery expensive.

"Morning.."

His voice was like crisp rain after it's fallen, it was fresh yet deep.

Post by Aceline on Wed Dec 24, 2014 1:00 pm

Aceline stayed put, her eyes wandering around the place. Suddenly they stopped in the top left corner where a small web was formed and a tiny black spider was lying in it. The girl narrowed her eyes and closely followed the little insect's move. It seemed so calm and beautiful, that for a moment, Ace forgot where she was.
For a moment the young girl remembered her past. The time when she was just an ordinary human girl, living in a small town, working in her sister's tavern. She remembered how happy she was, before the day she saw Casper again, before being turned into a monster. She couldn't forgive him for turning her into a vampire, she couldn't forgive Crimson Fang for taking her away from her loved ones. That's why she left them behind, turning all her emotions off, so the so precious king can't find her here. The only person she still had feelings for was Aiden but since she hadn't heard anything from here, she decided it will be best if she move on.
Suddenly, the voice of the old lady made her get back to Earth. Ace looked at her as a tiny smile appeared on her face. She nodded ith agreement to the comment the owner made and hurried to reply.

"I'm not in a hurry, so take your time."

Then again she took a deep breath but before looking at the web, her eyes fell on the young boy who came in. It was her grandson Baelfire. She had seen him a few times but never bothered talking with him. She also knew that most of the girls in the small town came here only to see him. But Ace was here for the treats.
The dark haired girl looked at the man who greeted her just for a second. She gave him a slight nod before looking away. He really was a pretty boy, but the vampire didn't show any interest at all.

Re: The Bakery

Post by Baelfire on Wed Dec 24, 2014 4:21 pm

Baelfire was careful as he passed the customer who was here to early. He didn't want to hit her with the sack if she was in the way, but lucky for him she wasn't.  He rarely saw this girl about, sure he knew she came here often to get bread and treats, which today Baelfire was going to make Cinnamon buns, strawberry blackcurent and blackcurrent ones too. Along with Strawberry turnovers too. Yet he needs to fetch another bag before making the treats.
So Baelfire moves into the kitchen placing the large sack down easily and gently to the floor, not to create a cloud of flour.

The elderly smiled seeing her grandson at the lady slightly interact. She knew her grandson, as always just wants to be around the back baking away.

"Bay, Whats today's treats, I'm sure the young lady is eager to hear!"

She called through the back yet she slightly jumped in surprise as he suddenly appeared back through the door way. He looks down at his grandmother with a single eyebrow raised, what was she getting at? He told her what they were going to be last night. His grandmother wasn't the one to forget things, she could hold grudges till the cows come home and still remember the damn reason to why she grudges them. Yet he lowered his brow looking to the female in the room, not this grandmother the other new person in the room.

"Today's treats are Cinnamon buns, strawberry blackcurent and blackcurrent ones too. Along with Strawberry turnovers too. "

Baelfire never told anyone who he makes them neither did his grandmother, he remembers the farmer's wife asked, his grandmother was in a foul mood that day she told them, she grinds up living cats to make the bread with. Which was quiet funny yet business that week turned slow but picked up again upon realising his grandmother had lied to the lady to get her off her back.

"Would you like a chair to sit down and wait?"

He asked out of sheer politeness as his grandmother happily put out the cooked bread.

Re: The Bakery

Post by Aceline on Thu Dec 25, 2014 11:38 am

Ace noticed the boy passing by her, yet she said nothing, nor did she smile. Smiling was something she wasn't used to do for long time now. Baelfire, as she heard the old lady call him, was a tall and handsome man, but having in mind the heavy bags of flour he carried, it was nothing unusual. To be honest, Aceline would be able to carry them too, but that was thanks to her unordinary physical powers, which she mustn't show anyone in the town.

The old lady, who seemed really proud of the boy, tried to start a conversation between the vampire girl and her grandson. Ace narrowed her eyes not sure how to react on that. She didn't mind to hear tody's treats but she could go without it too. Adter all, she trusted the old woman enough and knew that she would give her the best she had made. But being good and friendly was part of human life and she had to play her role good in order to get the audiance to believe her. The girl raised her head and pierced the boy with her cold dark blue eyes. She listened carefuly and when he finished a tiny smile appeared on her face, making her look features look soft and even more beautiful than before. But just before she spoke, things turned around on 180 degrees.

Aceline's eyes widened as she felt a pain going through her whole body. Her vision for a second became blurry making her tighted her grip around the wooden plot. She looked away for a second in order to hide away her worried face. Ace heard Casper's thoughts and the only thing she wanted right now is to help him, she had to.

Once again the girl looked up at the tall boy. She was smiling, but her eyes were full with sadness.

"I... I have to go now... I... Please save me some cinnamon buns and strawberry blackcurent. I will return as soon as possible to get them."

And before he could even reply she rushed out of the bakery. For a moment she stood on the street motionless. How could shestill feel pain when she turned off her emotions for him, or maybe she hadn't done it entirely... A second later she was running in an unknown derection for the others, but not for her.

He noted her eyes were cold, not in a way of, temperature or colour but more of emotion. Yet the tiny smile he received, light up her face like a fire work. Yet her eyes quickly returned back to somber.
Both of his eyebrows rose up in surprise the girl spoke then quickly fled the shop.

His grandmother glanced at him almost asking him, if he insulted the girl who quickly fled.  Baelfire rolls his eyes. Walks past his grandmother and walks down the cellars stairs to lock the outside doors from the inside in the dark, he knew the way and enters back up to the floor, swings the door closed and gently shuts it so the floor surface is flat again.

Baelfire went off into the kitchen leaving his grandmother in front of the shop. He was going to do what he said about the treats he is going to make. So he washed his hands and started creating the treats, the time had come that costumers started to flood in, Baelfire already has made 3 Batches of ten cinnamon buns. Along with another 4 batches of bread and rolls too. At this current moment he was adding jam to the the buns.

Yet time time seems to fly as the male had taken over from his grandmother a couple of hours ago it was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Most people shopped in the morning from the bakery, getting goods fresh, yet Baelfire had one last batch cooking in the oven which is rare. Unfortunately for the first costumer of the day didn't come back so his grandmother had sold the last ones too.

Baelfire being who he is, he made a few of each of the treats cinnamon buns along with blackcurrent and strawberry ones too for the first cusomer of the day to have them fresh when she turned, hopefully by the next hour too, the bakery would be closed in an hour indeed and he'll just have to take the treat home with him. The male sighs, sitting at the stall behind the counter writing down a list of what the bakery needed for the next coming few days.

Time passed quickly. Ace felt like just a minute ago she was standing in the bakery, talking with the old lady and her grandson. And then just for a second a few hours passed while she wandrered around the forest, then few more till she take care of Casper and now finally free she could once again pay a visit to the bakery and take, if there was anything left, treats.
The dark haired girl placed her palm on the handle and pushed carefully. The door opened making a specific unpleasant noise. Ace hurried to get inside and close the door. The warm air and delicious smell made her smile but only for a second. She took a few steps forward to the wooden plot where she saw the young man from earlier.

"Um... Baelfire..." she whispred his name but loud enough for him to hear her.

To be honest she didn't espect to find anything, having in mind the empty shelves and showcases. However she promised to come and she always keep her promises.

Upon hearing the door open Baelfire lifts his head up. Looking up towards the door, upon seeing the female speak his name, he has been meaning to get the door fixed, yet never really got round to it, besides it was like having a bell above the door. It warns you when the door open. Leaving his list as Baelfire stood up greeting the female with a small smile.

"Welcome Back."

He greeted the lady back. He tilts his head towards the kitchen.

"I've just made you a small batch, they're cooking in the oven. Grandmother, sold your lot earlier."

He told the female, he had no shame in admitting they have indeed sold her batch by now, yet got of the good of his own heart made some more just incase she came back

Post by Aceline on Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:30 pm

Aceline stood on a proper distance from the boy as her eyes wandered around the floor. Her deep blue eyes couldn't meet his, not because she was ashamed or afraid, more like because they were filled with worry and pain. She couldn't stop thinking of Casper and his stupid actions nor how her life will go on, since he is one again in it. Aquet sigh came out of her pinkish lips before she raised her head.

"It was needn't, but thank you..." she said as a tiny smile appeared on her face illuminating it just like the stars light up the night sky.

Aceline for sure did not doubt that his grandmother have sold out all the treats, after all the whole town payed a visit to the bakery. However she did not thought he would make some for her, in case she returns. For unknown reason, it made her feel good.

Post by Baelfire on Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:47 pm

Baelfire stood up from the stall, his tall form stood up straight, his back he had learnt to stand straight as a child, his great grandfather apparently died young from bad posture since then the family has learnt that straight posture made you live longer. He picked up the stool with his calloused hands, living as a village though out these years hard graph was familiar with him.

"I hope where ever you fled to has been sorted?"

As he walks around the counter with the stood and paced it on the other side as he spoke offering her to sit silently with his hand as he walks back around the counter. He remembered how she fled quickly from his store like the bakery had poisonous air.

"Here. Sit and wait it shouldn't take long."

Baelfire was normally a quiet person, yet he spoke he was often concerned or just out of politeness or in gernally just wants a conversation.

Aceline's eyes widened a bit as she looked at the tall and handsome figure that stood infront of her. She was quite amazed how a human boy could look like that. Not that she thought of humans as weak and small creatures, after all once she was like them. But to be honest she have never seen a boy like Baelfire. At least not human boy.
However his coment got her back on the Earth. Ace took a deep breath before giving a small sigh and turning her head away. Now did she notice how rude and mysterious she behaved. Despite that little issue she had to stay calm and pretend like nothing important had happened.

"It was, indeed." she replied bluntly before looking away once again.

On his offer Ace only gave a slight nod before taking the seat. She crossed her legs and placed her hands on her hips. She stood her back as a string and gently lifted her chin. However her eyes did not meet his again. Nor did a word came out of her mouth.

Re: The Bakery

Post by Baelfire on Fri Dec 26, 2014 6:52 pm

Baelfire rose a singular eyebrow at her, he didn't question the females blunt reply. Yet his eyes did linger on her slightly before the male turned to leave the main room for the kitchen. He would admit, she had a good posture about her, She's pale, not like him, who is slightly tanned due to outside work, carrying flour, Choping up firewood, helping out the farmer down the road from his grandmother's house when his herds of sheep escape or him just giving him a helping hand with everything. Her eyes much more darker when his own too. Baelfire has blue eyes that seem to peirce though his hair. While she has dark eyes of which makes him quiet why the black and white contrast she has.

Yet that was none of Baelfire's business, people in this town are too noisey, he tries not to be one of them too. So he silently left the room walking into the kitchen, the heat hits him first. It was hot in here, the oven has been going all day, yet so has Baelfire too. He left the door open so the hot air could warm the shop too.

As he walks over to the woven he grabs the thick gloves, opening the oven door, which creats a much more hotter air hit him, causing the male to frown, grabbing the hot tray sliding it towards him quickly, placing it down on a cooler tray to carry it safely into the shop, he roams back into the shop placing the cold tray that has the hotter one on top of it on the counter.

"I'll be back in a minute."

He spoke disappearing not waiting for a yes or no. As he felt the golden goods infront of the costumer. As he walks back into the kitchen, he needs to but the hearth out.

Re: The Bakery

Post by Aceline on Sat Dec 27, 2014 1:37 pm

Ace nodded at the boy's words and the moment he disappeared she sighed in relief. The girl closed her eyes for a second trying to stop thinking of the situations she got herself into. All the stupid drama in the clan she was now involved in absorbed her energy for sure.
In times like these she turned back to her old human days with nostalgie. Back then she was just an ordinary maid in her sister's fiance tavern and whenever she had free time she practised her illusionistic skills. Sometimes when she was in a good mood she used to show some tricks to the children. Of course they were stunned by these simple tricks but what else to espect from young children? However days like those were rare. Most of the time, she worked in her friend's tavern as maid or musician. Yes, one thing she adored were the violins and whenever Colton asked her politely she played for his customers. Her days were simple as that. However she doubted they will continue, having in mind her little guest, who was not that little at all.
And again Aceline began wondering what really got into his head to piss off his little sister like that? Whatever it was it seemed serious. She doubted that they would work it out that's why she was ready for any bad future events. But one thing she knew for sure: the dark haired girl would stand by Casper's side no matter what.
Finally she got out of her own ocean of thoughts. She got up on her legs and took a step back. She didn't feel confortable anymore, not because of the chair nor the boy. She had things to do and right now her patience, which usually followed her everywhere, was gone.
Aceline's fingers were tapping over the wooden surface as she waited for the boy. He was fast, but now it seemed like he was slow, or atleast she thought that way. She looked around slowly narrowing her eyes. She felt worried about Casper, about the tavern, about Colton who had to appear in the place soon enough. She took a deep breath when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. Instinctively the girl touched her temple with her fingertips and rubbed the place gently. Something was wrong and she could feel it. Once again Ace looked at the place where Bae hid few minutes ago. A sigh came out of her mouth before she turned around and left the bakery. Before doing it, she left a small white paper with a message on it.

'I'm sorry Baelfire, but I have to go. Write the treats on my account, I will pay for them tomorrow. It will be the least thing I can do for all your waiting.'
