Swaying Plains

Jake finally stopped running with Kenji far, far north of the territories. Gently he set the pup down, and his stomach growled. But he wasn't leaving Kenji alone. Sighing as his already sore muscles protested again, he began digging. Digging, digging, digging... Until a small den appeared. It was a little shallow, but it'd hide Kenji until Jake hunted. He put Kenji in the den, and curled up with him. His hunger could wait until he was done napping, something he needed. His tail was over Kenji as he slowly started drifting off. If Kenji tried to get away, he'd have to move Jakes tail, which would wake up Jake.

Kenji didn't understand what was going on, and why nothing smelled familiar. He was scared, so he just curled into his dad's tail and fell back asleep. He was too young to make sense of it all.

Only a few hours later, Jake opened his green eyes. He slowly remembered where he was, what had happened. He looked at Kinji lovingly, and slowly stood up, shuffling out of the den. He looked around at the plains, sniffing for any food. He smelled rabbits, and crouched down in the grass. Soon a fuzzy white animal came into view, and he stalked it. Suddenly he burst forward, easily catching the animal. He carried it back to the den, dropping it just outside the shallow hole in the ground. "Kenji. Food." He called out, waiting for his son to appear.

Kenji woke up to the scent of food and his father calling out to him. he crawled out of the hole made by his father and started to hungrily scarf down the rabbit. After he was finished he sat down and looked around. He was sure that he had never been to this place before. "Daddy where are we? And where is mommy, I want mommy."

Jake sighed, and put Kenji in his lap. "Mommy isn't here right now. Daddy is supposed to play with you for awhile. Do you want to play?" He asked, smiling at him. He gently fixed his hair.

Kenji still was very confused. "Is mommy coming soon then? Why isnt she here with daddy? Did mommy and daddy get into a fight?" He asked firing question after question. "Me cant feel home." Kenji said refering to the clan bond.

Jake petted his head. "Trust me, daddy still loves mommy very much. We will see her again." He said. He rubbed his head. "We are away from home right now. But we will go back one day, we will." He said, nuzzling his head.

Kenji had been crying but he stopped when Jake said that they would be able to see mommy again. "Okay daddy, me trust you." he said and then he hopped out of Jake's lap, and tagged him. "Tag your it." he yelled before he took off running.

Jake smiled, leaping up. He growled playfully, then started chasing him. "I'm going to get you!" He yipped, running after him at half speed.

Artemis wanders into the swaying plains. It was pretty boring, just walking around the mansion in abandon. So, she started walking north, in search of something to do. She glances up at the shining moon, casting an eerie glow over everything.

Jake runs and catches Kenji, smiling. He started tickling him, laughing as he did. Suddenly he stopped, he scented a vampire. He ran back to the den with Kenji, switched to wolf form, put Kenji behind him, and stood protectively in front of the opening.

Artemis hears laughing, at the same time she smells two werewolves.
"Hello?" she yells, knowing that The werewolves are probably freaking out at the smell of a vampire. "I'm not going to attack you, as long as you don't attack me," She says, though she doubts they believe her. "I'm Artemis." she throws in for good measure.

Jake stayed in the den, protecting Kenji. "I'm Jake." He called out in his throaty wolf voice. His tail twitched as he waited for this Artemis to show herself.

Artemis slowly approaches the wolf's voice. Strange that only one wolf responded to her calling out. Suddenly she remembers Anubis telling her about Razil and Jake fighting. She doesn't know very much about it though. She soon sees a hole that looks very hastily dug, only big enough for an adult wolf and maybe a cub. She remembers, without trying, that her katanas would be the best of her weapons against a wolf. She fights the instinct of reaching for her katanas.

Jake growled as the vampire came in to sight. "Don't come any closer. Id rather not kill you." He said, fur bristling. He bared his teeth, green eyes watching carefully.

Artemis holds her hands behind her head. "Well, I also don't want to die, and I just washed my katanas and I'd rather not dirty them again."Jake growls and Artemis shouts "Kidding! Kidding!"

Jake showed his head, but only his head. He watched her, still growling. "Get out of here." He told her, tail lashing.

"Fine, fine. Don't get your tail to a twist" Artemis says, As she backs away from the angry wolf.

Jake continued to growl, but it was obvious he was protecting something. His green eyes glowed slightly, and his body was turned as if shielding something. He took up most of the dens entrance. Only spot was under his belly.

Kenji stayed behind Jake as he talked with the vampire but curiosity got the better of him, and he looked fo a way to get out. He soon noticed that he could fit under his dad's belly and before his dad could stop him and ran out and up to the vampire. "Hi my mame Kenji, where wu come from?" He asked her, his light brown tail wagging.

As Artemis is walking away, a young pup runs up to me. ""Hello Kenji, I'm Artemis." Artemis says. "I come from Crimson Fang." He was the cutest thing, with his tail wagging back and forth. "Will you please tell your daddy that I'm not going to hurt you?" Artemis says, laughing quietly.

Jake padded after Kenji, growling under his breath. He made it so Kenji was right in front of his front paws. Seeing how the vampire was friendly towards the little pup, he didnt attack. "I dont trust anyone from Crimson Fang." He growled at her, standing protectively over Kenji.

"I can tell." Artemis says, trying to contain her sarcasm. "Are you that hostile to everyone you meet, or do you only reserve that for vampires?" Jake stands protectively over Kenji, like Artemis is gonna attack at any moment. She doesn't bother pointing out that she won't. At least  he's not violently attacking her.

(I didnt misspell anything, its just Kenji doing baby talk)
Kenji moved from behind his daddy and bit him in the leg. "Daddy you being mean, me and Armis wanna pway. She no be mean, why wu?" kenji was starting to like the vampire but he didnt understand why his dad was being so mean to the kind lady.
